CATHERINE BERNARD
Languedoc, France
Journalist turned winemaker Catherine Bernard would love to be making white wine. When she decided that after years of writing she would dive head first into her dream career she moved to Saint-Drezery. Fortunately for red wine lovers, when Bernard made the transition to vigneron she bought 3 hectares of grenache, mourvedre, and marselan. The purchase means that she makes red wine with the elegance and subtlety of white wine.
Catherine works biodynamically in the vineyard and is certified organic. After years of sharing a space with a fellow winemaker, in 2015 she built her own winery.
