LES CHAIS DU PORT DE LA LUNE

Bordeaux, France

The city of Bordeaux, full of neoclassical grandiosity and 3 star restaurants, is one of the most conservative, traditional places in France. Les Chais du Port de la Lune is the radical alternative. Situated behind an unassuming blue door on a small street coming off the coastal road, La Chais du Port de la Lune, a negoce project by Laurent Bordes, is housed in a converted WW2 bunker. In this wild network of seemingly endless tunnels, Laurent makes gorgeous wines from organic and biodynamic grapes from Bordeaux and its surroundings. “Port de la Lune” is a nod to Bordeaux’s nickname, translating to “Port of the Moon” -  and also encapsulates the wine's ability to transport us.
